Thank you Steady! I will be spending much more time reading through this after I put the kids to bed, but I have already read quite a few helpful items. As always, you are a great teacher!

You sir, are a credit to (photography forum)! This new member should be encouraged to make his or her photos the very best they can be. I have witnessed too many starting out photographers slammed that there are times I don't like even to be part of (photography forum). My hat is off you. Keep up the great work.

Hi Monie,
It is really very simple. Just give me a call (the phone number is on many pages (look at the bottom of the page) and we can discuss for free (on the Free Introductory Call) what you might want to learn and how you want to learn. During that free conversation we will discuss the time you want to invest in this and how your schedule could be arranged (e.g. to fit your lifestyle and requirements of work and family) and the topics you want to learn. This will also give you a chance to hear my voice and will confirm for you whether we can communicate well (it has never been a problem for me). I enjoy these Introductory Calls and so do the folks who call in. It all starts with a free phone call. Don't hesitate to call. I look forward to speaking with you. Finally, if you already use Skype, you can Skype me using the buttons/links found on the upper right column of every page on the site.

Hi Steady, It's Monie from the FM forum. My camera just came back in the mail today, and after tinkering around with it all day and taking test shots, I think I'm about ready for my first lesson... I believe its MUCH needed...

Can you tell me how I would go about setting this up? Thank you so much..!

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the comments above. I hope you will enjoy this free educational site too. I expect to add thousands of photos this year and much more stimulating content that we can all enjoy and learn from too. I will let you know when the books are available. In the meantime, enjoy this site and look around! Also, join the PhotoMentors Site Free Subscription too (look in the lower right column of any page), as that allows me to alert you when new content is added over time. Thanks. Steadman

What a terrific site to stumble on to- I have a 50D with a kit lens and an inexpensive Tamron telephoto. I have been contemplating upgrading my zoom or purchasing a good quality 50mm prime and you made my decision easier (1.4 50mm prime). Lots of excellent information to start perusing on your site. Thank-you for your work.

We are experiencing some software conflicts with the content of this post and 3 others on this site. We are working to resolve this. Please pardon the inconvenience and check back in a few days.

PhotoMentors has extensive material on Walker Evans including a biographical profile, quotes, Portraits of the Artist, and a Gallery that contains about 100 seldom seen photographs by Evans. There is also a list of books about Evans. All of this content will be shown here soon. Look again on your next visit to PhotoMentors and in the meantime, view one of the other Masters of Photography posts. Again, we have identified a software conflict with four of these posts but should have those fixed in about 48 hours.

This is great info Steadman, as a newcomer, knowing what equipment to invest in for starters is so important, websites or catalogs can be mind-numbing with page after page of stuff that one can only guess the use of, thanks for your clear recommendations AND a discount! I can't wait to get my reflectors/diffusers ordered!
